playing softball

Rhett got a little t-ball stand for Christmas and McKenna decided to try her hand at hitting the ball last night. She NAILED it!!!! This is just one of her hits. One of the other ones went clear over the pool table to the other side of the room. Needless to say, Duke was thrilled that we've found a sport that she shows interest in. Maybe we found McKenna's niche in sports.

The Christmas season was a lot of fun this year. As the kids get older, there continues to be more and more to look forward to during the holidays. Here are some pictures of some our favorite moments:

advent

One of my favorite Christmas memories from when I was a kid is this advent calendar we had. It's a Santa Claus that my mom made. She would fill it with daily treats and gifts that my brother and I would race to find every morning. My mom gave it to me several years ago and this year, for the first year, I renewed the tradition for McKenna and Rhett. Here they are getting their first treat of December:

Are you starting to see the whole football theme? I tell you what... this kid doesn't think of much else.

halloween 2010

Halloween was especially fun this year because McKenna and Rhett are old enough to decide what they wanted to be. McKenna chose to be Foofa, a character from her favorite show, Yo Gabba Gabba. Rhett wanted to be... well... guess... a football player. Trick-or-treating was fun too! McKenna definitely understood what was in it for her and wasn't at all afraid to go to strangers' doors to ring their doorbells. In fact, when it was time to go home to get ready for bed, she said "but there are all these houses with their porch lights on that we haven't been to yet!"

I didn't get any good pictures from Halloween night, but here are a few pictures from their Halloween party at school:
