This is Rhett doing what he loves the most. Unfortunately, this clip doesn't show him dribbling the ball between his legs, but I wanted to show him "working the ball" (that's the jig he does) and the shot in case any scouts are scoping the internet. Hee hee

snow fun
Poor McKenna and Rhett are four and two years old and have never really played in the snow. Oh... they've walked around the driveway for a few minutes after coming home from school, but they've never been sledding, built a snowman, or anything like that because they've always been sick when we have good snow. Last winter made me especially sad for them because we had sooooo much snow almost every weekend an illness or other activities kept them from going outside. Finally, this weekend, one of my two little munchkins got to frolick in the snow. Rhett has strep throat (poor guy), so while he was taking a nap I took McKenna outside to play. She LOVED it!!! Here are a few pictures of the fun she had:

Just like Mommy, she needed her sunglasses because the snow made it so bright.

Being pulled around on the sled I used to have when I was a kid

Our somewhat lame attempt at building a snowman. The snow was too fluffy, so we had to pack snow in a bucket to make a snowman that looks more like a penguin.

Although Rhett didn't get to play in the snow, he got to enjoy hot chocolate with us when we came inside.

playing softball
Rhett got a little t-ball stand for Christmas and McKenna decided to try her hand at hitting the ball last night. She NAILED it!!!! This is just one of her hits. One of the other ones went clear over the pool table to the other side of the room. Needless to say, Duke was thrilled that we've found a sport that she shows interest in. Maybe we found McKenna's niche in sports.

christmas 2010
The Christmas season was a lot of fun this year. As the kids get older, there continues to be more and more to look forward to during the holidays. Here are some pictures of some our favorite moments:

advent
One of my favorite Christmas memories from when I was a kid is this advent calendar we had. It's a Santa Claus that my mom made. She would fill it with daily treats and gifts that my brother and I would race to find every morning. My mom gave it to me several years ago and this year, for the first year, I renewed the tradition for McKenna and Rhett. Here they are getting their first treat of December:

Are you starting to see the whole football theme? I tell you what... this kid doesn't think of much else.
